God does not love you,
because there is war,
because there is hunger,
because there is gore.
God does not love you;
His heart does not break,
when your heart is wounded,
and you lie awake.
God does not love you,
because there is death,
because countless innocents
draw their last breath.
God does not love you,
He keeps fiery Hells
awaiting those guilty of
unholy swells.
God does not love you,
because there is pain,
because there are deserts
where you needed rain.
God does not love you,
but only Himself
your worship of Him is
His only great wealth.
God does not love you,
He asks that you stay,
but only to take all that you have
away.
Yeah say it like it is for god’s sakes
that was beautiful : )
This is an important poem. I still believe in God, but not the kind embodied in eternal love — unless I am embraced in eternal love which I don’t know (yet).
powerful stuff 🙂
whether there is a god or not, this mortal body will never know
I was thinking of writing something similar to this last night. God doesn’t care because he’s not even there.
god does not love us, and we know that because we were once loved, or …? innocence likewise. unholy versus . . . holy? but there is rain, isn’t there, sometimes, somewhere? god at the back of all this front? duality. ground and figure. creato ex nihilo. —–Chagall
Love this. So good.
Beware of religious fans attacking you. Ha. Kidding.
God does not love you, because he’s not real.
Ramen to that
